Holy Caledonia, Batman! She's at it again!

I know what you're thinking. "No, Caroline. No. I've been burnt by you before. One minute you have a blog and you update it, and the next, you disappear into European oblivion, never to be read from again. I absolutely will not fall for it this time. I am a classier lady than that!"

And you're right. I'm terrible at this "blogging" thing. But certain people have indicated that they might not absolutely detest me if I wrote another travel blog, so I'm back {and British-er than ever}! Still, if you're interested in reading, but not in checking semi-regularly only to be disappointed, shoot me an e-mail and I'll add you to a list of people that I'll notify whenever I actually update {barring the unforeseen circumstances in which I actually post on here consistently...which I promise to try to do}.

Okay, groveling aside, it's time to get down to business. As you all know, I've taken the very inadvisable leap into a masters' program studying French translation {no surprise there}...in Scotland. That's right, Scotland. Land of the freezing, home of the Braveheart. Which means...

  1. Unless I'm cooking for myself, vegetables are basically a thing of the past.
  2. But hopefully I won't have a heart attack, because I get lots of exercise on these ridiculous hills.
  3. I fear I may never be warm again. Seriously, highs in the mid-60s Fahrenheit. In August.
  4. I hauve to stuart insuerting extrauneous Us intuo moust everythuing I wruite. Ditto to replacing something I need to call "zed" with an S. But I refuse to say aluminium. I won't do it!
  5. My long, long-distance relationship has been upgraded to a merely long-distance relationship {which is laughably easy compared to being 3,000 miles apart.} Seriously, it's awesome.
  6. I'm in linguistic heaven! So many different accents {not just the weird Scottish ones}. And, last for the moment but certainly not least...
  7. I miss you all terribly - since financial constraints are stranding me here for a year, I hope to Skype with everyone as frequently as possible {a.k.a. when you have some free time and I'm not being devoured by readings and lectures and papers and seminars and haggis. Oops, I think I'm supposed to be devouring that last one myself.}
 I feel I should keep this one short to give you some time to digest {really, I must be projecting about the haggis thing}. But one more thing before I go:

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

Had to be done.
